Márton Liziczai

marton liziczai

Márton joined the group as a postdoctoral fellow in 2025. He is excited to learn more about parasitology, particularly how parasites exploit and remodel host cells during invasion and egress. He uses cryo-EM and biophysical approaches to study Plasmodium protein complexes and their erythrocyte-binding partners.

Before joining us, Márton studied at the University of Graz while working as a research assistant under the supervision of Professor Oberer, investigating the structural basis of lipid catabolism regulation. He then completed his PhD in the group of Professor Dutzler at the University of Zurich, where he worked on the structural and functional characterisation of the human iron transporters DMT1, NRAMP1, and Ferroportin.
