Congratulations to Dr Poy Pholcharee

Many congratulations to Dr Poy Pholcharee! Poy had his D. Phil. viva today, examined by Chetan Chitnis, Andrew Ward and Thomas Bowden. Funded through the Scripps-Oxford program, he made important discoveries about liver stage malaria vaccines at Scripps, with Ian Wilson, and how Plasmodium vivax invades human reticulocytes in Oxford.

After a successful D. Phil., he will now move to the US to continue using structural biology methods as a postdoctoral scientist to understand how antibodies can prevent infectious disease.
