Riming (Sunny) was a final year undergraduate student at Brasenose College at the University of Oxford, studying Biochemistry. He joined the lab in 2020 for his final year research project.

Before joining the lab, Sunny won the Gibbs Prize for Prelims in his first year. He also had a summer placement in Shaohui Huang’s group in the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Science, working on the biogenesis pathway of lamellar bodies in alveolar type II cells, with specific interest on characterising Rab38 protein.

Sunny was awarded the Biochemical Society Prize by the Department. This is awarded to the final year research student who makes the most "exceptional contribution to the laboratory during their research project at part II". Congratulations to Sunny!
